SHAH ALAM, July 3 — More than 300 residents of the Balakong state constituency participated in the Selangor Saring free health screening programme at the Batu 11 Cheras Basketball Court earlier today.
Its state assemblyman Wong Siew Ki said as of 3pm yesterday, the public’s response has been very encouraging, including those who came for walk-in appointments.
“Most of those present are aged 50 and above, and they do not want to miss the opportunity to enjoy this benefit provided by the state government.
“As of yesterday, over 400 individuals registered with the SELangkah app. Those who have already registered can still attend as there remains room for them to do the screening,” she said.
The state government has allocated RM3.4 million to realise Selangor Saring, which is expected to benefit up to 39,000 individuals, especially those with a family history of ailments, obese individuals, or those leading unhealthy lifestyles.
Running from May 22 to September 4, the programme offers physical screenings, blood and urine tests, eye, cervical and breast cancer, occult or colorectal faecal blood testing, and prostate tests.
