Free health checks in two locations tomorrow

SHAH ALAM, Aug 26 — State’s free health screening programme, Selangor Saring will be held in two locations tomorrow, says state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

She said the locations are at Dewan Masyarakat Seri Manja in Petaling Jaya and Dewan PKNS in Kelana Jaya.

The Selangor Saring programme will run from 9am until 3pm and participants can register via the SELangkah mobile app.

“As the saying goes, ‘health is wealth’ and prevention is better than cure. Hence, wait no more and register immediately,” she said on Facebook.

Dr Siti Mariah also informed that the programme will be continued at Dewan Orang Ramai Kg Melayu in Seri Kundang and Kompleks 3K MBSJ (Subang Jaya City Council) in Subang Jaya, on Sunday.

The state government has channelled RM3.4 million to ensure the success of Selangor Saring, which would benefit 39,000 people, particularly those with a family history of illnesses, obese individuals, or those leading unhealthy lifestyles.

Physical screening, blood and urine tests, eye, cervical and breast cancer, occult or colorectal faecal blood testing, and prostate tests are all available during the programme, which runs until September 4.
