Selangor FC crowned Youth Cup champion after beating Sri Pahang FC 2-1

TEMERLOH, Aug 27 — Selangor FC were crowned 2022 Youth Cup (U-19) champion after a 2-1 aggregate win over Sri Pahang FC at the Temerloh Town Council Stadium (MPT) here last night.

In last night’s second leg final, Selangor FC and Sri Pahang FC shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw but the 1-0 win at the UiTM Stadium in Shah Alam last week, gave Selangor FC a 2-1 aggregate win to emerge champions.

Selangor FC, playing in front of a hostile crowd, opened accounts from a freekick taken from outside the box by Muhammad Amirul Haziq in the 67th minute.

However, Sri Pahang FC clawed back into the match with a 73rd-minute equaliser by Nazul Izamil Zulkifli.

Spurred by the equalising goal, Sri Pahang FC players launched numerous attacks against Selangor FC but the visitors held on until the final whistle to claim the trophy.
