Selangor to review investment incentives to develop Sepang, Kuala Langat

SHAH ALAM, Aug 3 — The state government is currently examining four investment incentive proposals for the Integrated Development Region In South Selangor (Idriss), which is estimated to be worth RM1 trillion.

State executive councillor for investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the incentives include a special premium scheme, a waiver of assessment tax for vacant land, a 50 per cent tax discount upon certificate verification and a five-year licence fee exemption.

“The incentives are still being carefully studied and will be made public after they have received state government approval,” he said during the debate session on the First Selangor Plan (RS-1) at the Selangor State Legislative Assembly, here yesterday.

Teng said there are now 10 projects planned, two of which, the NCT Smart Industrial Park and Sepang Gold Coast Global Village, will be tabled for planning approval.

“We welcome any request and proposals provided they meet the set criteria. We hope the coordination and monitoring on the state level will accelerate the developments in the said areas,” he said.

Idriss is included in the RS-1 development framework, which would help Kuala Langat and Sepang economically and ensure a balanced distribution of economic activities across the state.
