Selangor under Pakatan has never failed to aid the people — MB

By Siti Rohaizah Zainal

KUALA SELANGOR, Aug 28 — The state government under Pakatan Harapan for the past 14 years has never failed in looking after the people’s welfare.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said efforts to help the people will continue, even as certain quarters cast aspersions by alleging Pakatan has failed to govern Selangor.

“Since 2008, all manner of slander and claims have been made, and worse. It was alleged that if Pakatan was in power then the state would run out of funds.

“In the year since we began administering the state government, some RM100 to RM200 million have been spent but presently there are 43 programmes with RM500 million allocated for the people.

“This includes programmes concerning birth, children entering schools, provision for houses of worship, Chinese and Tamil vernacular school aid, Jom Shopping vouchers, and allocating RM600 million for Back to School unfailingly,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking at the Pakatan Harapan Indian Road Show programme, held at the Selangor Technical Skills Development Centre (STDC) here yesterday.

He added the state government has also managed to increase the number of state reserves, in comparison to Barisan Nasional (BN).

“I want to say that Selangor’s reserves stand at RM3.4 billion, eight to nine times more than what they left behind.

“We can do it because our government, which started out as Pakatan Rakyat and is now Pakatan Harapan, always makes sure to do the best and prevent corruption,” Amirudin said.
