Increased interest in air force after movie’s premier — Exco

SHAH ALAM, Sept 2 Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa has heightened the public’s interest in the Royal Malaysian Air Force due to its strong message.

State executive councillor for trade and investment Dato’ Teng Chang Khim said the movie’s message is clear and can spark the spirit of patriotism among the people.

“I watched the movie anxiously as every scene was perfectly portrayed, and beamed with pride knowing that our forces must sacrifice much for the sake of our nation’s safety,” he said after attending the movie’s meet-and-greet session at TGV Cinemas in Central i-City last night.

Also in attendance was Invest Selangor Bhd chief executive officer Dato’ Hasan Azhari Idris and Multimedia Entertainment Sdn Bhd managing director Datuk Steven Lim Boon Siong.

Organised by Invest Selangor, nearly 150 media practitioners and exhibitors of the Selangor Aviation Show 2022 attended the session.

The military action film is a joint production by Multimedia Entertainment, Golden Screen Cinemas, Astro, FX Hammer Films and SixFun Media.

Directed by Zulkarnain Azhar and Frank See, Air Force The Movie: Selagi Bernyawa also stars Aiman Hakim Ridza, Nas-T, Datuk Adi Putra, Jack Tan, Pablo Amirul, Johan As’ari, Luqman Hafidz and Carmen Soo.

The movie tells the story of a Special Air Force team fighting for survival in a fictional terrorist-controlled country Namburi as they await the Royal Malaysian Air Force’s rescue.

Within six days of its premiere, the movie has recorded RM13 million in total ticket sales and is reportedly set to screen internationally in Korea, Japan and Taiwan.
