MBSA organises folk sports, free health screenings on vehicle-free day this Sunday

SHAH ALAM, Sept 8 — Members of the public will have the chance to participate in various folk sports, held in conjunction with the Shah Alam Car-Free Day program at Dataran Kemerdekaan Shah Alam on September 11.

The programme, organised by the Shah Alam City Council (MBSA), commences at 7.30am, and will include a long pole event, sack running, bola sepak kain pelikat, kelereng, human wheelbarrows, and gelung batik ajaib.

With the theme ‘Sports for All’, the monthly event will also feature a fun run, bicycling, archery clinic, silat clinic, an eco-free market, and urban picnics.

MBSA is also offering free health screenings for visitors to the event.

“You can also undergo health screenings for free at the Klinik Siti booth. Members of the public are invited to attend,” it said in a Facebook post.

The council organises the Shah Alam Car-Free Day programme to promote healthy living among the city’s residents.
