Mihas 2022: Selangor Pavilion showcasing 20 companies from various sectors

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 8 — A total of 20 companies from various sectors participated in the Selangor Pavilion at the 18th Malaysia International Halal Showcase (Mihas 2022), which started yesterday until Saturday.

State executive councillor for consumer affairs and halal industry Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said that participating companies showcase items and services that include food and beverage, personal care, health, education and logistics.

“This is the first time the halal industry committee is taking part in Mihas, and our focus is to attract external investors and business matches to penetrate a larger market.

“Through the Selangor Pavilion, the traders and entrepreneurs are able to increase their productivity and broaden their work network to a global scale,” he said after launching the Selangor Pavilion at Mihas 2022, which is held at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec), here today.

Mohd Zawawi said a beauty salon that is operating in Kedah had also taken part to exhibit at the Selangor Pavilion.

“Many had shown interest to participate at the booth but we had to limit the number. Selangor has a huge potential in the halal industry. In fact, half of the 8,000 certificate recipients under the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) are operating in Selangor,” he said.

Mihas is a robust marketplace for both international and local players to seize business opportunities with this year’s theme “Ethical Consumption”.

The event is held in a hybrid mode this year with a total of 1,196 booths involving 13 main clusters and a targetted sales performance of up to RM1.9 billion.
