SHAH ALAM, Sept 30 — The upcoming 2022 Selangor International Book Fair, which is scheduled to be held in December, will be featuring international publishers and distributors.
Selangor Public Library Corporation (PPAS) corporate division head Zafrullah Aris said Bloomsbury and Wiley from the United Kingdom as well as Brand Media from Indonesia are among the foreign publishers that will participate in the book fair, which is slated to run at the Shah Alam City Council Convention Centre from December 1 to 11.
“This year’s instalment is quite different as we will be having international players for the first time. The book fair will be enlivened by their participation as they would bring along books from their respective companies.
“Apart from local companies, the book fair would also see more foreign exhibitors participating in the programme,” he told SelangorKini.
Zafrullah added there will be several activities held alongside the event such as the Selangor International Kids Competition and Yusof Gajah Awards.
He said through the programme, the participants could join various reading workshops, illustrator clinics, and seminars from children’s book activists.
“We will also organise the Selangor Fellowship Programme by inviting book publishers from all over the world to meet local distributors,” he said.
PPAS has organised the Selangor Book Fair since 16 years ago. However, for this year’s instalment, the corporation will be introducing the 2022 Selangor International Book Fair.
