Selangor Sultan confers awards to over 200 individuals who contributed to society

SHAH ALAM, Sept 22 — Some 201 individuals were granted awards and honours, in conjunction with the celebrations of the 76th Birthday of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

Taking place at Dewan Jubli Perak earlier today, the ceremony was officiated by the Tengku Laksamana of Selangor Tengku Sulaiman Shah Alhaj, who represented His Royal Highness.

The individuals awarded with the honours include those from the districts of Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat, Kuala Selangor, Sabak Bernam and Sepang, who are deemed to have contributed to society, the state, and the country as a whole.

The ceremony saw 137 individuals awarded with Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK), followed by 26 with Pingat Perkhidmatan Selangor (PPS), 23 with Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang (PPC), and 15 with Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT).

The PJK award is granted to individuals who have served and contributed to Selangor for a long time, with diligence, obedience, and who possess special attributes and are of good character.

Meanwhile, the PPS award is for government employees who are serving or have served 20 years with the state government, with commendable behaviour.

The PPC award is for public officials who have served meritoriously in a support group and have served a minimum of seven years within the state government, while the PPT award is for individuals who have carried out distinguished and selected deeds.

Also in attendance during the conferring ceremony was Selangor State Secretary Datuk Haris Kasim, State Legislative Assembly Deputy Speaker Hasnul Baharuddin, and several State Executive Council Meeting (MMKN) members.
