Selangor to build homes for singles, newlyweds

By Mustakim Ramli

KUALA SELANGOR, Sept 13 — The state government plans to build one-bedroom and two-bedroom houses to be rented out to those who are single and the newly-married couples.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the construction of the housing projects would take place in Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Ampang and Shah Alam areas.

He said the house will be fully managed by the state government to prevent applications from those who are not eligible to rent the house.

“We do not want the quality of life for a family of eight to be compromised when they apply for the house, ostensibly to save up some money.

“We only want to provide the facilities to the single group, the newly-wed couple or a family of three,” he said.

Amirudin said this when met during the handover ceremony for the keys to 10 house owners of the Taman Sungai Yu Indah low-cost house, here yesterday.
