SABAK BERNAM, Oct 15 — The Sabak Bernam Development Area (Sabda) will be a contributing factor towards the growth of the district, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.
He said the development project would also guarantee a more proper settlement, in addition to opening up more economic activities including agriculture, tourism and farming.
“Within five to 10 years to come, Sabak Bernam will become a municipal council from a district council. All of the planning will continue under the existing administration,” he said when delivering his speech at the roadshow, here today.
A total of RM1.9 billion will be invested in Sabda from the public and private sectors.
The project is expected to generate an estimated revenue of RM246 million a year and create 4,000 job opportunities.
It comprises five clusters, namely increasing high-value commodities, supporting services, promoting tourism products, developing downstream industries and boosting public facilities and infrastructure development.
