Floods: 15 people in Jelebu evacuated to relief centre

SEREMBAN, Oct 29 — A total of five families consisting of 15 individuals from Kampung Juntai, Simpang Pertang, Jelebu near here were evacuated to a temporary relief centre after their homes were flooded due to heavy rain that went on for over three hours since 4pm today.

Assistant Fire Superintendent Muhammad Khairul Izzuan Othman said the victims, aged between eight and 60 were evacuated to the Kampung Juntai relief centre.

“Our personnel are still monitoring the floodwater level for follow-up action.

“However as of 11pm the water level is decreasing and we will wait for developments from the Malaysian Meteorological Department,” he said when contacted tonight.
