LZS denies any cooperation with company to build homes for needy

SHAH ALAM, Oct 7 — The Selangor Zakat Board (LZS) has denied any cooperation with a company to build houses for the ‘asnaf’ group (those eligible to receive zakat aid or tithe) in the state.

LZS, through a post on its official Facebook, stated that it had never appointed the company owned by a woman, as a contractor to build the homes as this would have to go through a tight selection process and receive approval from a special committee.

“LZS regrets the woman’s action of disseminating misleading information to the public, hence, they are advised to refer to LZS to obtain correct information on any relevant matter,” it said.

Earlier, a woman claiming herself to be a ‘Dato’ Seri’, said through a video on social media that her company had established cooperation with LZS to build homes for the asnaf group.
