SABAK BERNAM, Oct 15 — Over 300,000 households in Selangor get to enjoy 20 cubic metres of free water, says Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the initiative under the Air Darul Ehsan Scheme (SADE) prioritises low-income households.

“Many people thought that we had terminated the scheme. We had not but had prioritised it for those in need.

“We also increased the target groups from households with a monthly income of RM4,000 and below to RM5,000.

“Therefore, I urge those who are eligible to apply with Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd,” he said when delivering his speech at the Jelajah Selangor Penyayang roadshow, here today.

Amirudin said some additional 100,000 account holders are eligible to receive free water, with a cost of over RM30 million supported by the state administration.

Registration for the free water scheme is still open until December 31, 2024.

Among the requirements include Malaysian citizens and applicants are eligible to apply for one individual account only.
