MPHS provides bins for bulk waste ahead of Deepavali festival

SHAH ALAM, Oct 3 — The Hulu Selangor Municipal Council (MPHS) has provided 30 Roll On Roll Off (RoRo) bins in conjunction with Deepavali for the public to dispose of bulky wastes such as furniture and electrical items.

The local council said the 3-tonne bins are provided at a few locations including Batang Kali, Bukit Beruntung, Bukit Sentosa, Kuala Kubu Bharu and other areas.

It said on Facebook that the free service will be implemented in stages starting today until Saturday.

“MPHS hopes the residents doing spring cleaning in the involved areas would throw their bulk waste into the bins to ease the collection process, thus ensuring a cleaner and hygienic environment,” the local council said in a statement yesterday.

MPHS also reminds the public not to dispose of domestic waste such as food waste and flammable items into the bins.

For any inquiries on the RoRo bins service, contact the Public Cleaning and Solid Waste Management Department at 03-60641331 or 03-60641050.
