State keeps mental health issues in mind, prepares free counselling, aid — MB

SHAH ALAM, Oct 10 — The post-Covid-19 living, doubly affected by global economic turmoil, has made it more challenging for individuals’ mental health, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

He said the state government will not ignore such issues, and instead provide free counselling assistance via the Selangor Mental Sihat (Sehat) online initiative.

“Help will be provided as a form of indirect support. Mental health issues should not be viewed lightly.

“A strong mental health foundation is a necessity for a prosperous society to move forward. This is among one of the main focuses of the state government in developing Selangor,” Amirudin said in a Facebook post.

The Sehat initiative is the state government’s most recent endeavour to help Selangor citizens in dealing with mental health issues.

Its counsellors can be contacted at 1700-82-7536 or 1700-82-7537, the SELangkah app, or by visiting http://www.drsitimariah.com/sehat.
