SHAH ALAM, Oct 21 — The upcoming Selangor State Legislative Assembly session, which includes the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget, has been postponed to a future date.

The Assembly Office said the session, originally scheduled on October 28, October 31, November 1 to November 4, and November 7 to November 10, has been cancelled.

“We inform (the public) the meetings which were set to take place on these days have been postponed to other dates, which will be announced later on,” it said in a statement.

The office added the deadline to send in answers to queries for the assembly has been extended to November 11 as a result.

On Monday (October 17), Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the 2023 Selangor Budget would be postponed to November 25, so as to make way for the 15th general election (GE15) which is scheduled to take place on November 19.

He said Assembly Speaker Ng Suee will seek the consent of the Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj, on this decision.

Prior to this, the state budget had been scheduled to take place on October 28.
