Bursa Malaysia will be closed on Nov 18 in conjunction with special holiday

KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 — Bursa Malaysia Bhd and its subsidiaries will be closed on Friday, November 18, 2022, in conjunction with the special holiday as announced yesterday by the Caretaker Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

Bursa Malaysia and its subsidiaries will resume operations on Monday, November 21, 2022, the exchange operator said in a statement.

Ismail Sabri declared November 18 and 19 as public holidays to enable electors to exercise their right to vote in the 15th general election (GE15).

He said November 19 was also declared a public holiday as there may be some companies from the private sector, especially factories, that will be operating on that day, making it difficult for their employees to cast their vote.

The Election Commission has set November 19 as polling day.
