Moderate earthquake hits Central Indonesia

JAKARTA, Nov 21 — An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 jolted East Nusa Tenggara province in central Indonesia on Sunday evening, the country’s meteorology, climatology and geophysics agency said.

According to Xinhua, the quake occurred at 20:49 local time (1349 GMT) with the epicentre at 51km southeast of Kupang city of the province and the depth at 49 km under the seabed, the agency said.

The quake did not trigger a tsunami, it added.
