SHAH ALAM, Nov 26 — The Selangor Penyayang project, first introduced to stimulate the local economy in the post-Covid-19 pandemic period, will continue next year with RM28 million in funds.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said each state constituency will receive a RM500,000 allocation, to prioritise the maintenance and upgrading of public facilities.

“This includes the development of facilities that lack provisions for annual maintenance,” he said during the tabling of the 2023 Selangor Budget at the State Legislative Assembly yesterday.

Amirudin added approximately 664 Selangor Penyayang projects have been implemented throughout this year with a RM35 million allocation, with a focus on the maintenance of basic and public infrastructure that have been delayed .

“This is part of the state government’s efforts to maintain the momentum of post-Covid-19 economic recovery,” he said.
