MBI ready to table ESG report — MB

By Sofia Nasir

SHAH ALAM, Dec 6 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari is ready to unveil the sustainable report of the Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated) or MBI.

He said MBI is the first state government agency that adopts the principles of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG).

He said the principles will add value to MBI, particularly the banking sector.

“Currently, the banking sector considers the ESG values as an added value to its creditworthiness.

“I will go through the MBI and other subsidiaries’ reports to see their ESG performance,” he said during the Selangor State Legislative Assembly here, yesterday.

Amirudin was answering a supplementary question from Bukit Gasing state assemblyman R Rajiv on the proposal for MBI to present its sustainability report by the ESG principles.

ESG is used as a criterion to assess the impact of a company’s practices and implementation on its financial and operational performances.
