77 new village heads enjoy increase in allowance to RM1,500

SHAH ALAM, Jan 8 — A total of 77 new village heads in the state have received the benefit of an increase in monthly allowance to RM1,500 from January.

State executive councillor for new village development Ng Sze Han said the initiative is an appreciation for the role of chairman of the New Village’s Village Community Management Council who helps the residents and the local communities a lot.

“They convey information from the highest leadership of the state, in addition to ensuring the well-being of the residents and environment remains peaceful.

“With this increase, it is hoped that the village head can continue to provide good, trustworthy and responsible services with integrity to help the state government achieve the goal of improving the welfare of the people,” he said during a friendly ceremony with the New Village’s Village Community Management Council, here today.

Through the 2023 Selangor Budget, the allowance of village heads were increased from RM1,200 to RM1,500.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari when announcing the matter said the rate increase involved an additional allocation of RM1.843 million.
