MPSepang installs 10 CCTVs to curb illegal waste dumping, increase security

SEPANG, Jan 3 — A total of 10 closed-circuit cameras (CCTV) have been installed in Sepang to strengthen security and monitor illegal waste disposal activities.

Sepang Municipal Council (MPSepang) president Dato’ Abd Hamid Hussain said the mobile surveillance cameras are installed in locations based on current needs.

“We have installed several CCTVs but just 10 of them. These cameras were installed for security aspects and to monitor illegal waste dumping activities.

“The control room would receive an alert if such activity is detected and legal action can be taken,” he said, adding that the local council plans to add more CCTVs.

Earlier, Abd Hamid attended the oath-taking ceremony of the 23 newly appointed MPSepang councillors for the 2023 term.

Divisional Secretary (Management Services) of the State Secretary’s Office Muhamad Shah Osmin was also appointed as the new deputy president.
