SHAH ALAM, Jan 11 — Six victims of the landslide tragedy which happened at the Father’s Organic Farm campsite in Batang Kali have been identified as recipients of the Skim Insurans Am Selangor (Insan).

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government will hand over aid worth RM10,000 to each of the victims’ families soon.

“We have identified that six of the 31 victims who died in the tragedy were Insan recipients.

“This is an example of the benefits that people can receive if they register for the scheme,” he said at a press conference after delivering his 2023 New Year address at Dewan Jubli Perak Auditorium, here today.

Previously, Amirudin said a total of 3.56 million residents had applied for Insan as of November 17.

Since its introduction in August 2022, Insan, which was implemented by the Selangor Menteri Besar (Incorporation) or MBI, aims to benefit six million Selangor citizens.

It is offered to individuals aged 30 days to 80 years who have an identification card with an address in Selangor or is a voter in Selangor.

The landslide tragedy at the campsite in Batang Kali on December 16, 2022 claimed 31 lives, 12 of whom were children and a one-year-old baby boy, while 61 people survived.
