SUBANG JAYA, Feb 15 — The awareness of people bringing their own bags when shopping at the Jelajah Ehsan Rakyat (JER) in Seri Serdang state constituency is increasing.

Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) general assistant Siti Aishah Solaihah Adbul Halim Hapiz said this means that the announcements made by the corporation and the constituency office have reached the people.

“We are grateful to the constituency office for helping to make the announcement since today, it is safe to say, that every buyer brought their own bag and we really appreciate it.

“One plastic bag is only provided for the purchase of wet items such as chicken, meat or fish, if the buyer needs more for other items, they will be charged 20 cents,” she said, when met at the Seri Serdang constituency JER programme at the grounds of Surau Ar-Ridhuan, Taman Puchong Permai, here today.

Siti Aishah said the close cooperation between the constituency office and PKPS at the Seri Serdang JER helped in smoothening sales and purchase matters.

“The constituency provided about 15 volunteers to help the sales process here and it went very smoothly. Buyers didn’t even have to queue for a long time,” she said.

At the programme, PKPS provided 500 chickens (RM10 each), 300 packs of solid meat (RM10 per pack), 150 bottles of 5kg cooking oil (RM25), 300 5kg rice packs (RM10), 300 egg trays (RM10 per tray) and 300 fish pack (RM6 per pack).
