SHAH ALAM, Feb 17 — The Selangor government welcomes the cooperation of subsidiaries and government-linked companies (GLC) to build more affordable homes in the state.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the synergy will have a big impact not only on the people of Selangor but also Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

“We welcome the involvement of subsidiaries, especially those with large capital. Usually, those who work in the Klang Valley choose Selangor as their place of residence.

“Comfortable residences are capable of producing quality, capable, calm and unstressed human resources despite the challenges of urbanisation,” he said at the press conference for the Rumah Idaman Kwasa Damansara groundbreaking ceremony today.

The project involving the construction of 4,649 housing units was managed by Permodalan Negeri Selangor Berhad together with its subsidiary Employees Provident Fund, Kwasa Land Sdn Bhd.

With an area of 1,000 square feet, the unit is offered at a price of RM250,000 and is equipped with two parking lots, air conditioning, water heater, kitchen cabinet, refrigerator and television.

Projects to help the people of Selangor own homes have been implemented in several locations including Kajang, Bangi, Shah Alam, Cyberjaya and Semenyih.
