SHAH ALAM, March 15 — Yayasan Hijrah Selangor visited three successful entrepreneurs who were funded by the agency via the Kembara Sukses Hijrah 2023 programme yesterday.
Acting Chief Executive Officer Normaiza Yahya said the individuals each have their own success stories in the fields of vehicle body painting, baking, and cleaning products.
“Kembara Sukses Hijrah aims to see Hijrah’s achievements in helping entrepreneurs by providing loans for them to either start a business or as additional capital to expand it so they can increase their income,” she said.
Normaiza added the selection of Usahawan Sukses Hijrah was evaluated based on several criteria, including loan repayment discipline.
“When a loan applicant is a good paymaster, it is seen as a positive sign, as one starts off with no staff and goes on to hire workers, and sometimes own several business branches.
“To this, we make it a target for them to take repeated loans, between two to three times, so as to help them increase their income to double what it was before they took the loan.
“In such instances, we keep records of their successes, highlighting it so they are inspired to go further,” she said.
Hijrah offers seven financing schemes to aid entrepreneurs in business growth. These include i-Bisnes, Zero to Hero, Niaga Darul Ehsan (NaDI), Go Digital, i-Lestari, i-Agro, and i-Bermusim.
