KKD targets seven mln views on MYTV platform this year — Sec-gen

KUALA LUMPUR, March 17 — The Ministry of Communications and Digital (KKD) is targeting a key performance indicator (KPI) of seven million views this year through its MYTV Broadcasting Sdn Bhd (MYTV) platform.

KKD secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohammad Mentek said the ministry managed to reach its target of 6.3 million views on the platform last year.

“We have been working with MYTV for three years. This year, for the first time, we have set a KPI for the number of views,” he told reporters at the launch ceremony of Malaysia’s free over-the-top (OTT) streaming service TV, MYTV Mana-Mana.

Also present was Bernama deputy editor-in-chief (international news service) Jamaluddin Muhammad, who is also discharging the duties of the editor-in-chief.

On the MYTV Mana-Mana application, Mohammad said the aim is to provide a wide range of quality programmes under one roof for Malaysians.

KKD has set a goal of 1.6 million users downloading the application this year, he said, adding that viewers can access a variety of domestic and foreign programmes in high definition (HD), live TV, radio and on-demand networks through the application regardless of time and place.

“MYTV Mana-Mana is a national OTT platform that offers a range of free TV channels from broadcasters such as Bernama TV, RTM, TVS, Suke TV and TV Al-Hijrah, as well as on-demand content such as Resepi Tok (Destination TV), Walkabout Asia, Food Stories, Cities of the World and many more,” he said.

MYTV Mana-Mana is now available on mana2.my and can also be downloaded from Google Play Store and iOS App Store, he added.
