MB: Cooperation between security forces important to maintain peace, security

SHAH ALAM, March 27 — Close coordination between departments and personnel at different levels of the security forces in the state is crucial to maintain peace, says Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

The Menteri Besar said that the effort is needed and should be carried out continuously to maintain Selangor’s stability and prosperity.

“I have always stated that Selangor is a very risky state. Meaning to say that if we fail, it would negatively affect the entire nation because Selangor is one of the economic hubs, the largest centre for higher education and even the entry point to the country.

“Because of this, I believe it is crucial that everyone works closely together and is eager to help one another,” he said at a Menteri Besar Iftar Perdana programme with the frontliners at the Selangor Police Contingent Headquarters, here last night.

Amirudin alos affirmed the state government’s unwavering support for law enforcement and uniformed forces.

“We have very high commitments and I hope that the close cooperation would continue to to establish a safe and secure environment.

“Even though the country’s leadership has changed, we are grateful that despite the intense political conflicts, especially in the lasy three or four years, everything is still continuing on in a calm and stable condition without any commotion or riots.

But I see that the culture of our society is still controlled peacefully and this is due to the uniformed forces and authorities who are respected and are able to carry out their tasks in a peaceful and fair manner in accordance to the laws of our state and country,” he said.

Meanwhile, the state’s security and uniformed forces had received RM50,000 from the Menteri Besar’s office, which was presented by Amirudin to Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan.

The contribution is disbursed to five agencies, namely the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM), the Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), members of the 11th Brigade, the People’s Volunteer Corps (Rela) and the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM).

Each agency received RM10,000 in appreciation of their efforts, sacrifices and dedication to the welfare of the nation and the state.

The event also included the distribution of necessities to the asnaf group, special needs children, and single mothers.
