SUBANG JAYA, March 14 — The Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has compounds on a restaurant in Taman Bukit Jalil, after it was revealed to have violated the stall limit for its premise.

MBSJ Enforcement Assistant Director Muhammad Iskandar Z Azmi said the restaurant was found to have opened up to 15 stall units.

“According to the Food Premises License’s Special Conditions, only two stall units are permitted for central lot premises, while five are permitted for side lot premises.

“We also advise restaurant owners to apply for a permit to place tables and chairs along the sidewalk, before doing so,” he said after the integrated operation at the commercial centre in Taman Puncak Jalil, earlier today.

Each offence can be compounded by up to RM1,000. Should the premise owner remain recalcitrant, confiscation action will be taken and the business license cancelled.

The operation from Jalan PUJ 1 to Jalan PUJ 6 saw 56 law enforcement officers take part, including six of MBSJ’s departments like the Enforcement Department, the Environmental Management Department, the Licensing Department, the Health Department, the Engineering Department, and the Building Department.

“Our focus is on businesses operating without a license, those who have committed the offence of obstructing public places and sidewalks, vehicle workshops without licences, as well as the construction of ramps and building additional structures without authorisation.

“We also oversee the enforcement of derelict and abandoned vehicles, monitoring restaurants in terms of compliance with licensing conditions, table chair permits, and sidewalk barriers,” Muhammad Iskandar said.
