KLANG, March 31 — The Klang Municipal Council (MPK) has issued a total of 945 compounds during inspections at approximately 1,447 premises, as part of its the J-Force special team’s cleanliness enforcement operation from March 1 to yesterday.
MPK President Noraini Roslan said the team also closed seven premises, carried out 23 confiscation actions, issued 35 warning notices, and gave 305 verbal warnings during the course of the operation.
“The team’s actions are to ensure the cleanliness of Klang city remains at an optimum level.
“All the compounds that were issued cannot be appealed against, with no reduction to the compound rate provided,” she said during the MPK Plenary Meeting yesterday.
MPK’s J-Force special team was tasked with carrying out enforcement operations during this month, with a focus on monitoring and enforcement actions against unhygienic offences including not maintaining cleanliness and the uncontrolled disposal of solid waste.
At the meeting, Noraini reminded Klang residents to limit their garbage disposal during the Ramadan fasting month, in light of the various Ramadan bazaar and ahead of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with the disposal of furniture and domestic waste.
“MPK is also planning various campaigns and awareness programmes in conjunction during Ramadan in collaboration with various agencies, to prevent the public from food wastages by providing trash bins for the convenience of Klang’s residents,” she said.
