SHAH ALAM, March 2 — The Selayang Municipal Council has appointed a new Deputy President, as former Finance Ministry’s Parliamentary and Monitoring Control Unit head Adi Faizal Ahmad Tarmizi took the office effective yesterday.

Adi Faizal is succeeding Cheremi Tarman, who was appointed Deputy Mayor of Shah Alam on January 9.

Adi Faizal is an Administrative and Diplomatic Officer with a Master’s in Business Administration from Asia E University, as well as a Bachelor’s of Business Management (Marketing) from Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM).

He joined the public service in 2006, and possesses extensive experience with his work in several ministries and government agencies, with his most recent under the Finance Ministry’s starting in 2020.

Before that, Adi Faizal also served as executive director of the Selangor Sports Council in 2019, and deputy chairman of the Klang Municipal Council from 2016 to 2019.

In a statement, MPS said it hopes his appointment can help the local authority excel throughout Selangor with his experience.
