Number of flood evacuees in Johor drops further to 26,381

JOHOR BAHRU, March 17 — The number of flood evacuees in Johor dropped to 26,381 from 7,418 families as at 8am today from 28,008 last night.

The State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) in a statement said that they were all housed at 95 relief centres in Batu Pahat and Segamat.

“Batu Pahat has the biggest number of flood evacuees involving 26,337 people from 7,404 families while Segamat has 44 people from 14 families,” said the statement.

Meanwhile, good weather is expected in all 10 districts this morning.

However, it said five roads in Batu Pahat are still closed to light vehicles.

The roads are Jalan Parit Haji Arif/Sri Dayung near Sri Dayung Bridge; Jalan Parit Jambi (Parit Jambi Bridge); Jalan Haji Arif (Sri Medan Health Clinic); Jalan Parit Warijo and Jalan Sri Bengkal (Kampung Sri Bengkal).
