Stormy weather expected over half of Selangor until 10pm — MetMalaysia

SHAH ALAM, March 5 — Thunderstorms, heavy rains and strong winds are expected to hit over half of Selangor until 10pm today, says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In a warning issued at 7.05pm on Facebook, the agency said that inclement weather is anticipated for Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

“Other states to see similar bad weather are Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Perak (Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk andHilir Perak),” it said.

MetMalaysia issues warnings whenever signs indicate a thunderstorm with a rain intensity exceeding 20 mm that is close to or is expected to occur for more than an hour.

A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning valid for a period not exceeding six hours for a single release.
