154 from seven Selangor districts conferred with awards in conjunction with Sultan Selangor’s birthday

SHAH ALAM, May 24 — A total of 154 individuals from seven Selangor districts were conferred awards and medals in an investiture ceremony held in conjunction with the 77th birthday of Highness the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah Alhaj.

The districts involved were Gombak, Sepang, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Sabak Bernam, Hulu Langat, and Kuala Langat.

The medal presentation ceremony was conducted by the Raja Muda Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah, representing the Selangor Ruler, at the Dewan Jubli Perak, here yesterday.

In the ceremony, 101 individuals were awarded Pingat Jasa Kebaktian (PJK) and 22 received Pingat Pekerti Terpilih (PPT).

Meanwhile, 18 individuals received Pingat Perkhidmatan Cemerlang Selangor (PPC), 10 received Pingat Perkhidmatan Selangor (PPS) and there were three recipients of Pingat Kecemerlangan Sukan Selangor (PKS).

The PPT is awarded to individuals who performed commendable acts and demonstrated exemplary performance, while the PPC is awarded to government officials who have displayed excellence in support services and have served for at least seven years with the state government.

The PJK is awarded to individuals who have dedicated their service to Selangor, displaying diligence, obedience, exceptional abilities, and good character.

Whereas, the PPS is granted to government employees who are currently serving or have served for 20 years with the state government, demonstrating exemplary conduct.

The PKS award was established in 2015 and is awarded to Selangor officials or athletes who were born in the state and have demonstrated outstanding performance in the field of sports.

Also present at the ceremony were State Secretary Dato’ Haris Kasim and several members of the State Executive Council.

On Monday, the presentation of awards and medals was also held here, involving 221 recipients from Klang and Petaling districts.
