Nearly 10,000 visitors enliven Hulu Langat state govt open house

KAJANG, May 6 — The Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri open house for the Hulu Langat district kicked off to a merry start with close to 10,000 residents attending, in the second week of the festive period.

Taking place at the Agora Night Market site in Taman Sri Nanding, it was attended by state government leaders including the state executive councillor for infrastructure Izham Hashim, the state executive councillor for the environment Hee Loy Sian, and the state executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud.

Running from 8pm to 11pm, a variety of dishes at 13 stalls were served during the event, with satay and grilled lamb as the main crowd drawers.

Other dishes included cakoi, laksa, lemang, rendang, cordial drinks, nasi minyak, soto ayam, keropok lekor, apam balik, and pisang goreng.

Izham also presented duit raya to the guest children, while their parents and other adults were entertained with performances by artists from the Department of Information Malaysia, including Pija Mentor.

Jelajah Kita Selangor Aidilfitri will continue this week at the Petaling district’s Sungai Buloh pasar malam site tonight, followed by Taman Perwira Sijangkang in Kuala Langat on May 7.

Later on, it will proceed to Dataran Tanah Lesen in Parit Baru, Sabak Bernam, on May 12, and Padang Awam Bukit Badong in Kuala Selangor on May 13.

The last open house is set to take place at Uptown Sri Gombak in Gombak on May 14, which will be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

Last week, the open houses took place in several other districts, beginning with Sepang, Hulu Selangor, and Klang.

During the open houses, visitors can also learn of the various state government initiatives via Iltizam Selangor Penyayang (ISP), which they can immediately apply for if they choose to.

In addition to the open house, visitors can also witness various state government initiatives through the Selangor Penyayang Iltizam (ISP) which is also available and can be applied for immediately.
