SUBANG JAYA, May 3 — Newly-appointed Subang Jaya Mayor Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim is determined to maintain Subang Jaya City Council’s (MBSJ) momentum of excellence, which it has gradually accomplished over the years.
The former Ampang Jaya Municipal Council (MPAJ) president has vowed to improve MBSJ’s quality of service for the city’s residents.
“MBSJ is on the right track. So we will focus more on issues, and practice the concept of dealing with problems (that arise) before residents can file complaints.
“I feel the challenge of handling areas and residents in townships and cities is roughly the same. What is important though, is us providing good services to the citizens,” he said during a press conference earlier today.
Prior to that, the 56-year-old Mohd Fauzi took his oath of office and signed the letter of appointment before his deputy Mohd Zulkurnain Che Ali, with MBSJ council members serving as witnesses.
He succeeds Datuk Johary Anuar, who was appointed as the Selangor State Government (Development) Deputy Secretary in January.
Asides from MPAJ, he also served as Sepang Municipal Council president from 2019 to 2020,
With a diploma in Public Management from INTAN, a bachelor’s in Sciences (Honours) from Universiti Sains Malaysia, and a master’s in Land Resource Management from Universiti Pertanian Malaysia (UPM), Mohd Fauzi also served as Sepang Municipal Council president from 2019 to 2020.
The Terengganu native’s previous experiences include serving as Hulu Selangor district officer from 2015 to 2019, and as Gombak chief assistant district officer from 2011 to 2015.
He also served as the chief assistant secretary of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government’s Corporate Division.
