Klang Utama gets RM300,000 facility upgrade this year

SHAH ALAM, July 14 — Some RM300,000 have been spent since the start of the year to upgrade various facilities in Klang Utama, which is part of the Bandar Baru Klang state constituency, for the safety and comfort of residents.

Its incumbent assemblyman Dato’ Teng Chang Kim said the works, which included road repairs, utilise funds that have been allocated under the Projek Selangor Penyayang (PSP) initiative.

“This time, we are focusing more attention in Klang Utama because initially, in 2018, this location was not part of the Bandar Baru Klang constituency. As such, there were many cases of damaged roads.

“As soon as it was listed under the constituency, we immediately prioritised repairing and paving roads there,” he told Selangorkini.

Apart from road repair works, Teng said his office has also oversaw the upgrading of several drains in the area to avoid instances of flooding.

“We also allocated funds to upgrade sports facilities like badminton and basketball courts, to ensure the comfort of residents, particularly the youth.

Under the 2023 state budget, Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had announced an allocation of RM28 million under PSP as part of the state’s efforts to stimulate the local economy, through the implementation of small projects.

Priority has been given to maintain and upgrade infrastructure, as well as develop new public facilities.
