SHAH ALAM, Aug 23 — The second series of the JobCare road show, organised by the Selangor Workers’ Empowerment Unit (UPPS), will take place on August 26 at Menara Yayasan Selangor in Petaling Jaya.
Its chief coordinator Vijayan Subramaniam stated the programme, which runs from 9am to 5pm, offers over 10,000 employment opportunities, including positions in the services, manufacturing, and logistics sectors.
“We welcome the public, including disabled persons of all ages, to attend the JobCare roadshow this Saturday, dressed neat and with their resumé in hand.
“We will feature at least 20 employers from various industries, and agencies present at the location will conduct interviews with participants on that day,” he told SelangorKini yesterday.
Meanwhile, Vijayan said UPPS will also organise a courteous riding course on the same day at the Safety Driving Centre in Petaling Jaya, with some 100 gig workers expected to participate.
“This course is aimed at raising awareness of the importance of road safety, as most accidents involve motorcycle riders.
“We hope with this course, motorcyclists will be more cautious and simultaneously will reduce the rate of road accidents,” he said.
Asides from Petaling Jaya, JobCare will also take place at Pusat Komuniti Gombak for the Gombak district on September 9, and Universiti Cyberjaya in Sepang on September 14.
