Selangor helps over 600 Taman Putra Perdana homeowners obtain titles

SEPANG, Aug 2 — A total of 601 homeowners in Taman Putra Perdana received individual property titles yesterday, with assistance from the state government.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said they constitute part of approximately 9,000 homeowners who have been waiting for their titles for some 15 years.

“This issue has been delayed for 10 to 15 years. Alhamdulillah, we have found a suitable formula and successfully helped to resolve these cases, one by one.

“In truth, this could have been expedited, but due to the pandemic, it was delayed. Overall, it will be carried out in stages,” he said.

Amirudin was speaking to the press following the handover ceremony for the Taman Putra Perdana (Plot J) individual property titles.

He added he expects all 9,000 homeowners to receive their titles by early next year at the latest.

“Plot J was resolved first because the resolution complexity was easier to handle. The other plots are still in the resolution process, according to the land’s complexity and the registered interests in the property title documents.

“I hope by the end of this year or early next year, everything (the handover of property titles) will be completed,” Amirudin said.

Previously, the Menteri Besar said land ownership issues in the area first emerged before 2008. Since then, the state government has been working to find a solution to assist the affected homeowners.
