KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 17 — A total of 58 air quality monitoring stations of the Department of Environment (DOE) recorded moderate Air Pollution Index (API) readings, as of 3pm today.
Based on the Air Pollutant Index (API) displayed on the DOE portal, Cheras here recorded the highest API reading at 96, while Shah Alam in Selangor and Kuching in Sarawak recorded readings of 91 and 90, respectively.
An API of zero to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and 300 and above, hazardous.
The API data is released every hour based on readings recorded at 68 air quality monitoring stations nationwide.
