SHAH ALAM, Sept 12 — Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim led a chorus of condolences to the family of former TV3 newscaster Muhammad Zaman Goh Abdullah, who died this morning.
The veteran broadcaster, fondly known as Raymond Goh, died aged 62 after battling a stroke.
In a social media post, Amirudin described the newsman as the ‘golden voice’ who coloured Malaysia’s journalism industry during his time on television.
“May his soul be blessed, his sins forgiven, and he be placed among the believers,” he said today.
In conveying his condolences, Anwar said he prayed for Goh’s family to remain strong as they go through this challenging time.
“The broadcasting world will miss him and certainly, his contribution will be remembered forever,” he said.
It was reported that Goh had suffered from a stroke attack on August 30, and was admitted to a hospital in Petaling Jaya, where he was treated until his death today.
In a statement by his family, it said the veteran newsman passed away peacefully this morning. They also expressed gratitude to his friends and supporters for the outpouring of love and support during this trying period.
Funeral prayers will take place at Masjid At-Taqwa in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. He will be buried at Bukit Kiara Muslim Cemetery today.
