MYEG: No misrepresentation in online services

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 — MyEG Services Bhd has clarified that it has not misrepresented services available on its online platform.

“All services continue to be provided in accordance with the terms and conditions stipulated by the government,” the e-services provider said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia today.

MyEG said this in response to news articles titled “MYEG illegally renewing workers permits”, and “MyEG said to be charging fees for foreign worker permits despite contract suspension” published by two local English news portals on Tuesday.

Quoting Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong’s remarks in Parliament yesterday, the news portals reported that MyEG had allegedly been renewing workers’ permits illegally till today, despite the contract suspension by the Malaysian Immigration Department.

“The board wishes to clarify that the statement made by Khoo is an opinion of his own,” said MyEG.
