Earlier, a total of 138 participants from various agencies took part in the simulation, including district and land offices, local authorities, the Selangor Civil Defense Force, the Selangor Police Contingent and the 11th Malaysian Infantry Brigade.

The ceremony which was officiated by state executive councillor for disaster management Mohd Najwan Halimi, state executive councillor for community welfare Anfaal Saari was also present at the event.

Gombak assistant district officer Muhamad Amin Azam said the goal of this programme was to coordinate actions between agencies to deal with the Northeast Monsoon.

“Among the contents of this programme were operating a boat, how to use the government’s integrated radio network (GIRN) and basic courses related to rescuing victims.

“Through this program, all agencies alike learn through joint response in the event of a flood incident like before,” he said.

Meanwhile, Selangor Volunteer Corps (Serve) member, Muhammad Hafizi Mat Jalani said he will take advantage of the knowledge he received in this programme by sharing it with fellow volunteers.
