HULU LANGAT, Nov 4 — Menteri Besar Selangor (Incorporated), or MBI, is meticulously preparing its stocks of basic necessities to face the potential floods during the monsoon season.
Its social responsibility and corporate communications head, Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor, said disaster relief necessities, including hygiene kits, retort food, and mattresses, have already been gathered in the agency’s storage.
“This time, the preparations were augmented with the involvement of various agencies, including state and Federal disaster management entities like the National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) and the Social Welfare Department (JKM).
“InsyaAllah, if any additional assistance is required from MBI, we are always ready,” he said after delivering aid to 30 flood victims at Kampung Batu 3’s Village Community Management Council’s operations room in Semenyih today.
Azri added that MBI has spent approximately RM700,000 to assist disaster victims in Selangor.
“This amount is part of the RM1 million allocation for disaster victims for 2023,” he said.
Asides from disaster relief, MBI has also allocated significant funds for the education sector, offering free tuition, community programmes, support for mosques and surau (prayer rooms), incentives for Hajj pilgrims, and food basket donations to the needy.
