SHAH ALAM, Nov 11 — The project to paint and repair apartment facilities under Projek Selangor Penyayang (PSP) will continue next year with a RM10 million allocation.
Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state government is also distributing RM250,000 in funds to 56 state constituencies to implement PSP, involving RM14 million.
“At present, 626 PSP projects in 56 state constituencies, including efforts to paint medium and low-cost apartments, are providing a new lease of life in residential areas,” he said during the tabling of the 2024 Selangor Budget yesterday.
The state government has also made a special provision that each local authority will utilise 10 per cent of special financial reserves to rehabilitate infrastructure and public facilities.
This special provision is in addition to the allocated expenditure for the coming year.
“This expenditure needs to be focused on physical facilities like roads, transportation stations, safety elements, sports facilities, water drainages such as retention ponds, and area cleanliness.
“This is so each local authority’s environmental standards, be it urban or rural, can be improved for the people’s benefit,” Amirudin said.
For 2024, Selangor will propose establishing a Local Authority Services Commission to enhance the services of the state’s local authorities, including the response time to citizen complaints within a 24-hour period.
