SHAH ALAM, Dec 26 — In a move to bolster the job readiness of its graduates, Universiti Islam Selangor (UIS) has formalised partnerships with key industry players through the signing of several memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and a memorandum of agreement (MoA).

The MoUs, facilitated through UIS’ Community and Industry Network Centre (PJKI), were inked with four entities, namely Japan Da’wah Centre, Koperasi Kakitangan Petronas Bhd (Kopetro), Malaysian Technology Development Corporation Sdn Bhd, and Malaysian Bumiputera Retailers and Suppliers Association (Mybursa).

The MoA, meanwhile, was inked with Mikaza DRG Sdn Bhd and is valued at RM1.2 million.

The agreement is set to foster stronger industry relations, offering UIS students valuable research opportunities and potential employment paths.

“The primary objective of PJKI is to ensure that every UIS graduate is trained and ready to be employed by any agency or industry in related fields,” UIS said in a statement.

“This collaboration offers various benefits to both parties, including academic research networking, research and industry technology collaboration, information exchange, student industrial training placements, and innovation.”

UIS is also optimistic about establishing more collaborations with diverse industry sectors in the coming year.
