Selangor Village Development and Security Committee appointments to be completed in March

By Suhaila Shahrul Annuar

SABAK BERNAM, Feb 13 — The appointment of 373 positions in the Selangor Village Development and Security Committee (JPKK) is expected to be completed early next month.

The chairman of Pakatan Harapan (Harapan) Selangor said his party needs to discuss further with the component parties of Harapan and Barisan Nasional (BN) to finalise the division of the position.

“We have until the end of February (to finalise). I believe it can be implemented with good understanding.

“(We already) have the numbers. But, when there are new developments, I must resubmit the proposal.

“God willing, by the end of February or early March, I am confident it can be resolved,” said Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari when met after visiting the site of the shellfish seed theft case here today.

On January 20, Selangor Umno Chairman Datuk Megat Zulkarnain Omardin decided to hand over the 20 Local Authority council member quota to Harapan.

Megat Zulkarnain was reported as saying that the move allowed him to focus on the 373 Village Development and Security Committee chairman positions appointed under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry.
