All England: Wei Chong-Kai Wun sent packing in opening round

KUALA LUMPUR, March 14 — National men’s doubles pair, Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun suffered their first round exit of the All England 2024 in Birmingham, Wednesday.

The world number 18 pair went down in straight sets to the current world number 16 duo from Japan, Akira Koga-Taichi Saito, 21-23, 18-21, in the world’s oldest badminton tournament held in Utilita Arena Birmingham.

Koga-Saito will set up a second round encounter against defending champions from Indonesia, Fajar Alfian-Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

The seventh seeds pair had successfully booked their second round berth as they powered past Taiwanese Lee twins, Fang Chih-Fang Jen, 21-13, 21-9.
